Agriculture and industry consume water the most (I looked for sources on the internet, agriculture water consumption percentage between 69%-70%, industrial consumption 22%, domestic 8%) even if we're consuming less, we can reduce this percentage more than 8% by doing the same things but in less time to conserve water.

If you're curios to know how much water we use in our houses, I looked for that too, and found some information from Water Research Foundation, Residential Uses Of Water, we consume water the most while flushing the toilet with, 24% of our water usage, and 20% for showering, almost the same percent as the faucet usage which is 19%, and 17% for clothes washer, we waste 12% of the fresh water, the WRF refers to it as "leak", and for other uses percentage of 8%.
Some people might ask, but what about the water cycle? isn't all the water that we use going to move through the Earth's water cycle? I asked the same question, I searched on the internet again, an article on NASA GISS (Goddard Institute for Space Studies) shows and explains the human impact on the global water cycle, and in a summary is that human processes are now on a large enough scale to significantly perturb the global hydro-logical cycle on land, and this article published back in 1997, that means the impact today is so much bigger than we think.

Then what's the solution for that? what we can do is little changes in our routine and daily life, now after you know you might start noticing that you take a shower longer than you need, and you wash dishes with so much water leakage, we use water to do almost every thing, if I did this little changes, and you did it, and everyone on this planet did it, then we will see the results!
In this article I'll give you some tips that you can apply and start reducing your water usage from this very moment!
1- Cut Your Showering Time By 5 Minutes
Not only that showering for longer than 10 minutes needs so much water, but also it can be bad your skin because it can get rid of essential natural oils (source: Sharecare).

How much water will be used to take a 10 minutes shower?
• 20 gallons for a 10-minute shower (low-flow)
• 25 gallons for 10 minutes. (standard-flow)
As long as your shower time is less than 10 minutes, then you're saving water.

2- The Right Way To Wash The Dishes
I observed many people washing the dishes in this wrong way that leads for so much wasted water, they turn on the faucet and start washing, even if they are not using the water the sink will be on for all the whole process of "washing the dishes" and that's the problem, the solution is simple, when you want to wash the dished next time start by washing all of it using a sponge without water, and then take something (ex. spoon) turn on the sink on a low-flow water rate, wash it, turn off the sink, until you finish all of the dishes. Congrats! You saved by doing this!

3. Reuse Water
If you're washing your vegetables so you can make sure it's clean and edible, make sure also to save that water for your plants, you can put a bowl under the faucet and wash your fruit or vegetables, that fresh water can be used again to water your plants.

4- The Right Way To Brush Your Teeth
Instead of the regular way to wash your teeth that we see in the movies, which is to turn on the sink while you're doing the whole process, the same as the usual way to wash the dishes, you can fill a cup with water, brush your teeth, and when you finish you can clean your teeth with the water in the cup instead of turning on the sink on high-flow rate as we see in the movies, this way will also save water, because we brush our teeth up to 3 times a day, and almost every one brush their teeth at least once a day, if we could calculate how much water we use just to brush our teeth... I don't want to even think about it.

5- Another Way To Wash Your Face
If you're a person who likes to wash his face before getting into bed, or when you wake up, then you can get your spreading bottle and fill it with water and start washing your face this way instead of turning on the faucet to wash your face, the great news is that you can still use soap and was your face as regular!
You can always help, especially about this topic, every little step you make matters, I think it's time to act, so let's act together before it's too late!
